If you are like most Americans, you spend a great deal of time traveling throughout the community. For drivers who are constantly on the go, the Jeep Compass offers these features that make long commutes feel like a leisurely drive.

1. Performance

The Jeep Compass comes in seven different trims that offer a wide range of performance options that are sure to fit driver needs. Under the hood, the lower trims come standard with a 2.4-liter, inline-4 engine that can generate 180 horsepower. The engine is suitable for everyday driving and is equipped with the MultiAir valve-timing system which boosts power while increasing fuel efficiency. Speaking of fuel efficiency, the Compass averages 23/32 mpg over city and highway roads respectively. That sort of fuel economy will amount to big savings for those who are constantly on the go.

The drivetrain on the Jeep Compass is controlled by a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, or nine-speed automatic transmission, depending on the trim level. The nine-speed transmission also includes clutch-less manual shifting for difficult terrain. The Compass is available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, giving drivers the ability to further customize the vehicle to their needs. The high-performance suspension and braking system will help maintain control on icy roads or when stuck in inclement weather conditions.

2. Comfort

The Compass is stacked with features that maximize the comfort of passengers while providing all the conveniences that modern technology can provide. To begin with, the Compass has a spacious interior with a lot of head- and legroom in both the front and rear seats. The rear seats fold down to maximize storage space inside, and for loads that need to be stored on top of the Compass, there are eight cargo tie-downs.

All trim levels of the Compass come standard with Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system. Depending on the trim level, there will either be a 7-inch or 8.4-inch touch-screen display and multimedia apps including SiriusXM and Apple CarPlay. Other features of the Uconnect system include navigational data, Bluetooth, integrated voice command, and a 6-speaker surround sound audio setup.

Other conveniences Jeep Compass drivers can take advantage of include an electrochromatic inside rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, steering wheel mounted audio controls, and remote keyless entry.

3. Safety

A major concern of any driver who plans to log a lot of miles is safety. Accidents can come out of nowhere while on the road, so Jeep has equipped the Compass with active safety features such as automated emergency braking, lane-departure assistance, adaptive cruise control, and a rear park assist system to help avoid collisions. The Compass received a 4-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as well as receiving a top rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in 2017.

As you can see, the Jeep Compass has a nice blend of performance, comfort, and safety that make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a dependable, fun-to-drive vehicle for everyday commutes. If you're in the market for a vehicle to take you around town, then definitely check out what the Jeep Compass has to offer.
