Six Easy Car Care Tips to Get Your Ride Ready for Spring

The long winter is nearly over, folks, and that means spring is just around the corner! Of course, as with all changes in the seasons, that means it's time for some car care to get your vehicle ready for the warmer weather. We have a quick list of 6 spring car care tips to help get you started. Let's take a look:

  1. Wash and wax your vehicle. Winter driving can cause a lot of dirt and - worst of all - salt to build up. Prevent paint damage and rust by cleaning all that grime off!
  2. Similarly, clean out the interior of your car too. All that salt and dirt gets tracked in, and your cabin would certainly benefit from a little vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, and throwing away accumulated garbage.
  3. Check your tire pressure. The warmer weather will increase the tire pressure, especially if you added more air during the winter, so you should ensure it's at the proper levels to ensure optimal control and fuel efficiency.
  4. Inspect or replace your wiper blades. Ice and snow does a real number on your wipers' soft rubber, so be sure they're working properly and not leaving streaks.
  5. Take a look under the hood. Specifically, check belts and hoses to make sure the cold temperatures haven't made them brittle or cracked. Additionally, check your coolant levels to ensure you have enough and it's not too old.
  6. Check your alignment and suspension. Cold weather leads to cracked and pitted roads, and driving on those all season could damage suspension component and your car's alignment.
